Nadine Kazan, group account director, FP7 McCann: A team player in the true sense, Salim has a knack for getting people to work harmoniously together. He thinks strategically from both a business and creative perspective and always ensures the work delivered is best-in-class. He is always keen to contribute to new business, with a track record of straight wins over the past two years for the pitches he supported on.
I started off as an intern at BBDO Beirut and fell in love with advertising. I got my first real job at AGA ADK Dubai as an account executive and worked my way up to account manager. Before moving to FP7 McCann, I pursued my master’s degree in strategic marketing and travelled around Europe.
Here I am eight years into my career, working alongside amazing talent – and for the most effective agency in the world.
Throughout my career, I worked on multiple accounts across different industries including FMCG, home appliances, financial services, electronics and, most recently, luxury real estate, retail, and hospitality and entertainment. This culminated in four Effie awards in the past two years.
The first ECD I ever worked with taught me to always be curious and ask questions, even if I think I know the answer. Curiosity leads to knowledge and with knowledge the sky is the limit.
In a perfect world, a football player. In a not-so-perfect world, a film director. I’ve always loved watching movies and, with each movie, in the back of my head I think, “I would have done this differently.”
I wouldn’t really call it a side hustle but I’ve always been passionate about football and used to host FIFA tournaments at my place for money. I was good at the game. But when I started losing, I stopped.
