Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2020 – Nour Samra, Senior graphic designer, OMG Egypt
Tarek Jaffar, general manager, OMG Egypt: Nour is one of the stars in our creative department. She has a great sense of taste, and the work she produces for our clients is nothing short of outstanding. What makes Nour special is her continued striving to learn new skills in the creative world. She started by working on basic static images, then started to grow her skills to more animated work and other skills as well. Her perseverance in a world that has a lot of subjectivity is something that we absolutely love and respect in her. She knows how to take in the client’s feedback and reply with a beautiful piece of work.
After receiving a fine arts degree, I pursued my advertising career and I joined OMD as a junior graphic designer working on numerous campaigns, many of which were shortlisted or award-winning. Being part of a challenge-driven team, given the dynamic nature of the advertising industry in Egypt, I was able to use my skills and explore different tools, from illustration to storyboards and motion graphics, thus delivering an integrated creative product. This gave me the chance to grow fast. Now I’m a senior graphic designer and I’m still waiting for what the field holds for me.
My dream would be using my art as a mean of storytelling. I’d like to publish my own graphic novels that tell stories derived from my cultural surrounding and my own experience.
That would be my art. My illustrations got exhibited in Cairopolitan and featured in Cairoscene. My project was part of the Arab Animation Forum in the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Films. I’ve recently collaborated with UNICEF Egypt on some awareness campaigns. I also travel whenever I can.
