Namita Thakkar, PR Director, Matrix Public Relations Dubai: Shirin joined Matrix as an intern in 2019. She has since advanced to now hold the position of Senior PR Executive. There is no doubt that her zeal to learn and her cheerful personality sets her apart. She has a unique ability to observe and follow instructions as well as pro-actively take the lead on new initiatives. Shirin has always exhibited superior communication skills and has thus managed to build some strong relations with media and clients in a short span of time.
From front-ending campaigns, developing creative strategies for projects, or being a dynamic podcast host, Shirin has truly been an asset for Matrix PR and is a pleasure to work with.
Career highlights
I am at heart, a storyteller with a passion for Marcom and everything millennial. I am passionately outspoken, hardworking and friendly. This has led me to build some wonderful relationships with media, clients and colleagues. In less than a year I have grown into my role and been promoted from an executive to senior executive. Moreover, over a year ago, I also discovered a new talent within myself as a podcast co-host on The Matrix Green Pill podcast. And podcasting has started off as a whole new adventure and taught me a lot of new things. I have been part of over 5 PR award-winning campaigns.
Guiding principles
Adaptability. I thrive on feedback and do not always look at criticism negatively. I personally take criticism well and have adapted and evolved into a better being using that feedback. Another principle that drives me is fostering respect in the workplace irrespective of gender, designation, skill level or background.
Side hustle
I don’t really have a side hustle as such, but I personally enjoy making gifts and planning events and parties as it brings me joy to make each celebration special. I am a sucker for people’s smiles!
