Career highlights

Michel Bassil is a creative strategist who transforms cultural insight into measurable business impact. After graduating top of his class from LAU on a full scholarship and completing exchange programmes in the US and Europe, he began his career as a business analyst before moving into advertising at Leo Burnett. There, he contributed to award-winning work, including a Dubai Lynx Grand Prix and Cannes Lions Gold, and supported major wins such as PepsiCo. He later led content and digital strategy for P&G and Nestlé brands. Now, as Associate Director at SSUP, he manages a growing team and leads regional strategy for brands including Tim Hortons, BabyJoy, and Qiddiya City.

Guiding principles

Strategy should direct creativity, not dilute it. The strongest ideas happen where brand intent and cultural behaviour naturally meet. Understanding how people actually use social channels leads to work that performs without feeling engineered. And above all, advertising should leave people better than it found them, ideally with a smile.

Side hustle

Outside the agency, Michel supports his family’s catering business, from marketing its presence to occasionally handling deliveries when needed. He also collaborates with emerging artists to help their music reach the right audiences, combining his passion for culture, platforms, and storytelling beyond traditional brand work.
